Andrew Linham

saxophonist / composer / educator

Andrew Linham is an award winning saxophonist based in London, UK. His varied career sees him working across live performance, theatre and education as a composer, educator and musical director.

He composes for and leads the Andrew Linham Jazz Orchestra and the Andrew Linham Quartet with whom he released his first album 'Abandoned Silence'.

With the London City Big Band he holds the baritone saxophone chair at their monthly residency for the Spice of Life Soho and has been a regular sideman with a diverse collection of ensembles from MIMIKA's Balkan Space Jazz to Big Band Metheny.

Working extensively with Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, Andrew's theatre work includes both Composer and Musical Director roles on a variety of professional, youth and community productions.

As Musician in Residence at Ardleigh Green Junior School he runs his unique education course 'Lyricland' whilst also teaching for Havering Music School delivering the jazz education provision.

Endorsing Yamaha Saxophones and SAXRAX Saxophone Stands, he has travelled the world representing their products at a variety of international trade shows.

Andrew studied Jazz Saxophone at Leeds College of Music and holds an MA in Jazz Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 2011 he was the recipient of the Yamaha Parliamentary Jazz Scholarship Award and featured on a cover mounted CD in Jazzwise.
